My building career began how most folks building career starts...  in a kitchen.  Washing dishes.  As a young man of 14 years old, that was the only job available and I was keen to get started.  Kitchens led me to my first love (food), and food led me to my true love (plants) and the landscape industry is heavy on the construction side of things, especially in upper middle class suburban America.  Construction is a natural extension of the landscape design industry.

After serving in the US Military, I went back to school to study horticulture at Oregon State University.  For the next 15 years I worked designing and creating outdoor spaces, finishing hundreds of projects over the years.  I cut my teeth at a large landscape design outfit in my hometown of Charleston SC where I worked as the senior project manager, then went out on my own as an independent builder specializing in custom outdoor living spaces.  In the US, I am a licensed carpenter and a licensed mason, as well as being a fully bonded contract builder.  I succeeded in one of the toughest markets in the country, then we packed it all up to move to New Zealand.

Today, I'm ready to put my hard work and years of experience to work for you.   I have the experience to create unique and quality solutions for your residential projects.  I have the licensing, insurance, and qualifications to ensure that you and your property are not only in good hands with the builder, but protected from the unforeseen through proper processes and professionalism.  Our goal is to build a business that's based on honesty and respect.  Our customers deserve a builder who cares for their property as much as they do.  Too many builders will sell a job and ghost.  I think you deserve better.  For our company: I bid the work.  I perform the work.  When you hire Levingston Construction it's Levingston doing the work, and that's good news for our customers.
